Now, I'm not the most avid reader in my spare time. Typically I'd rather be sketching, working on a large scale art piece or practicing a dye technique. So when I say a book has captured my attention from start to finish you can undoubtedly be assured it was hard to put down. The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur. This New York Times Best Seller came to me at the perfect time when everything seemed to be changing and I was learning how to adapt to my latest surroundings. The Sun and Her Flowers is a collection of prose whose insights speak to all persons who are going through life toughest changes.
"this is the recipe of life
said my mother
as she held me in her arms as i wept
think of those flowers you plant
in the garden each year
that people too
must wilt
fall
root
rise
in order to bloom"
